Why Zerubbabel?
The HOZ (House of Zerubbabel): DALLAS HOUSE OF PRAYER was birthed through several prophetic events that began in 2002. We provide the details of our prophetic history "HOZ History" on MP3 through the HOZ Resources page.
Zerubbabel was a pivotal character in biblical history and his prophetic significance to this generation is paramount. While he played a very important role in human history, very few people know about him or his accomplishments. He was a forerunner, the governor of Judah, born into the line of the kings of Israel, led the second exodus and built the second temple. He and Joshua, the high priest established a new form of rule for the Jewish people, that of the king and the priest. After the exodus from Babylon, the rule of the government of the king of Israel was never re-established. God sent three prophets to serve Zerubbabel in this effort; Ezra, Haggai, and Zechariah. For a more in depth teaching, you can print a copy of our four part series on Zerubbabel through our Resources page.
The significance of the message of Zerubbabel for the awakening in Dallas and the nations is exciting. To give a brief summary, we see in Zechariah 4 the two olive trees that represent the sons of oil; Joshua, the high priest and Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah. While Zechariah 4 is given to encourage the building of the second physical temple, prophetically if describes the condition of the end time temple which is Christ in us the hope of glory. The two offices of Joshua and Zerubbabel (Zech 3 and 4) symbolically represent Jesus' role as both the priest and the king. The seven candlestick's represent the seven churches in Asia.
The picture of the olive trees and the candlesticks that the angel shares with Zechariah is the preeminent establishment of our roles as priests and kings (Rev. 1:6), the fullness of the temple in the last days as the Christ men on the earth giving light to all nations. Today the church is in the midst of a great awakening in their roles as priests to the Lord. The prayer movement that is sweeping the nations is the impetus of our becoming one with Christ (Jn. 17:21-24), hearing His voice and partnering with Him to see His kingdom established. The Lord is forming His bride on the earth that will shine with His glory. What has been missing from the priestly is the role of the king. While we have seen forerunners who have operated in this role like the latter rain revivalists, we haven't see it in its fullness. The angel in Zechariah 4 admonishes Zerubbabel in a different way that he does Joshua. He tells him, "Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts." We play a part in our roles as priests but we cannot control the release of the kingly role of governmental authority. As we pray, we send up incense before the throne but only the Lord of hosts will release the thunder through us and into the nations (Rev. 8:4-5). The role of the king includes the greater works that Jesus spoke of regarding this last generation and releasing the justice of God into the earth. Zechariah 4:19 tells us that Zerubbabel has laid the foundation of this temple and his hand will finish it. This is a symbol of Jesus in His governmental kingly role that laid the foundation of the new man and He will come through us with the same hand in partnership to complete it.
The HOUSE OF ZERUBBABEL:DALLAS HOUSE OF PRAYER was established to seek His face as priests through night and day prayer and participate in the release of the kingly role to this end time generation. We know that we have stepped into something tangible in time and look forward to partnering with the Spirit of God and the body of Christ worldwide to steward the coming thunder.
